Ofsted
In two successive Ofsted Inspections we have been praised for the progress
that our pupils make, and for the quality of teaching. The school caters for children from the age of 4 up to the age of 11 and prepares them
for entrance to a variety of grammar, independent and state schools.
Objectives
and Policies
The school is co-educational and caters for children from rising 4 to 11
years of age. The school has an excellent record in gaining admissions to
public, grammar and other independent schools.
Teaching & Learning
All aspects of the National Curriculum are covered and the teaching styles
used are varied, but with an emphasis on the traditional.
Music Lessons
Piano Lessons on an individual basis are available by arrangement with the
private tutor. We are also able to offer:-
- flute
- saxophone
- guitar
- beginner violin lessons
with peripatetic music teachers either before, after or during the school
day.
Sport
Golf and tennis lessons are also available.
Class Sizes
Classes are small enabling the staff to give each child individual attention
according to their needs. Able children are encouraged to progress whilst the
less academic are encouraged to work to the very best of their ability. Our objective is to bring out the best in every child. Children move through
the school in year groups, with changes each September. Our class sizes
allow us to give each child that extra personal attention that he or she needs.
Reports to parents
Written reports are given to parents at the end of the academic
year and Parents' Evenings are held regularly. All pupils take internal
examinations each year. Homework is set from the very earliest class.
